Air Sealing Advice & Articles
Air infiltration, i.e. air leakiness, is measured by a blower door
test. A fan is connect to an external door and inside air is blow
outside, which will depressurize the house with respect to the outside
environment by 50 Pascal’s (a Pascal is a unit of measure of pressure).
This allows outside air to be sucked back into the house through all
holes, cracks, voids, etc. allowing the energy auditor to precisely
measure the air leakiness of your house.
